Miqdad: OPCW team was going to Turkey to coordinate with terrorists and White Helmets

Deputy Minister of Expatriates and Foreign Affairs Dr. Faisal Miqdad has underscored that OPCW team was going to Turkey to coordinate with terrorists and White Helmets.

In an interview with to the Beirut-based al-Mayadeen TV channel, Dr. Miqdad said Turkey and some Arab states, including Saudi Arabia, have provided terrorist groups in Syria with chemical materials and we have evidence about this.

“The Chemical weapons file is part of the conspiracy against Syria and it has been open since 2013. The first chemical attack was carried out by terrorists in Khan al-Asal in Aleppo province and the West rejected sending fact-finding team to that area,” the official added.

He made it clear that when the fact-finding team had to go to Khan al-Asal, we were surprised to hear of reports  about another chemical attack in Jobar in the eastern Ghouta of Damascus.

“Syria has joined the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW), which declared that all of the Syrian chemicals from all storage sites have been loaded aboard,” Dr. Miqdad asserted, pointing out that Syria was asked whether it prefers to destroy the Chemical weapons inside Syria or abroad, and it decided to transport them abroad.

He affirmed that Syria is free of all types of Chemical weapons and WMD, while Israel has these weapons. “Those who claim that Syria is still keeping part of its Chemical weapons they have to tell us where is it.”

Dr. Miqdad stressed that terrorists used chemical weapons against Syrian army and in their battles against each other.

“OPCW team was going to Turkey to coordinate with terrorists and White Helmets….

Western countries rejected holding a session to hear what the Fact-Finding team would say about chemical weapons in Syria,” he added, indicating that Americans control OPCW and they have formed a delegation that faked reports and investigations.

“We will never recognize any report released by the OPCW…We will never receive the OPCW and we will not recognize it,” he concluded.
