Nine Iraqi security personnel wounded by a bomb explosion in central Baghdad

Baghdad, ST- Nine Iraqi security personnel were wounded when unknown persons threw a grenade at a security checkpoint in Al-Rasheed Street in central Baghdad.

The Baghdad Operations Command said in a statement today, quoted by Alsumaria News that “unknown  men threw a hand grenade at security forces at a checkpoint near the Iraqi Central Bank building in Al-Rasheed Street in the center of the capital, wounding nine security personnel.”

“Four of the injured were in critical condition”, the statement said.

The capital Baghdad has witnessed from time to time terrorist bombings in addition to sporadic attacks targeting civilians and members of the security services, resulting in casualties.
