ROME, (ST)- Head of the Syrian parliamentary delegation participating in the meeting of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Mediterranean (PAM) on Counterterrorism Rami Saleh has stressed that terrorism is a big and dangerous challenge facing not only Syria, but all countries of the world.
Saleh, who is the Secretary of the Syrian People’s Assembly (PA), said during the meeting on Friday that combating terrorism starts with the issuance of clear legislations and establishing good relations between countries based on honesty and mutual respect, pointing out that the People’s Assembly has endorsed a special law on counterterrorism.
PAM’s meeting was held at the headquarters of the Italian Parliament.
The agenda of the meeting included several topics relating to boosting PAM’s jont activities with its main partners regarding the fight against terrorism, enhancing border security measures, exchanging information, consolidating solidarity with terrorism victims and solving the problem of foreign terrorists by sending them back to their homelands.
The Syrian delegation met with the Palestinian and Algerian delegations as well as with senior PAM officials.
