Efforts to Produce Electricity Supplies Locally

DAMASCUS,(ST)_ Minister of Electricity  Imad Khamis and Industry Minister Adnan Sukhni on Saturday discussed  cooperation in manufacturing  requirements  of the electricity sector , locally, so as to contribute to advancing the national economy. 

In a statement to pressmen following the meeting, Minister Khamis said that  cooperation between the two ministries is an urgent and    strategic necessity dictated by national needs in order to achieve self-sufficiency , support national industries and upgrading them in terms of quantity and quality, stressing the need to support the public sector, marketing its products and creating advanced  industries , set on feasibility and  international standards .

He added the meeting  focused on the development work in the cables lab, and on  producing  low voltage cables and  electrical towers, that  were  vandalized by the  armed terrorist groups ,  stressing speedy work in boosting renewable and alternative energies, especially in the field of solar cell industry and solar geyser.
