PROVINCES,(ST)_The main road linking Damascus to Daraa province , south to the country, and 8 towns outside Daraa and Hama are now safe after cleansing them of terrorists, military sources said.
Today (Saturday), units of armed forces imposed control over Kherbet Gazaleh and Tamer towns in Daraa countryside and eliminate unknown number of armed terrorist groups there.
This advance coincided with restoring security and stability to the Damascus-Daraa road, which was cut by terrorist groups.
While in Hama countryside, six towns –Khattab, al-Qassabeya, Tal Hasan, Zor Jded, Zor al-Masaleq, and Zor al-Nassereya- became under the army’s full control increasing the number of cleansed towns to eight as two other ones were cleansed of terrorists yesterday.
In the same province, It was also reported that terrorists’ bid to detonate 27 explosive devices on the road linking Halfaya to Tebet al-Imam town, was repelled whilst al-Nusra Front-linked terrorists in Halfaya town were targeted by the armed forces.
Abl town ‘safe’ since April 18
Meanwhile, competent authorities confiscated a car picked with explosive devices, of the weight 600kg, near a police post on Homs-Damascus highway.
In Homs, an Official source said: “terrorists tried yesterday to enter the safe Abl town but the units of armed forces confronted them and killed most of them,” dismissing reports that armed terrorist groups captured Abl town in Homs countryside as “groundless”.
The armed forces have restored stability and security to Abl town since April, 18th.
On the other hand, a quarrel broke out between two terrorist groups in Bab Hod in Homs city over sharing loots resulted in the death of most of the two groups’ members.
In countryside of Damascus, Aleppo, Idleb and Der Ezzour Provinces, the armed forces pounded several terrorists’ hideouts and their weapons inflicting heavy losses upon terrorists.
Dozens of terrorists were reportedly killed in the said provinces.
In another development, an engineering unit repelled terrorists’ attempt to detonate an explosive device attached to a private car in al-Qass’a area in the capital.
