Kazakh Foreign Minister: The next round of Astana talks may be held in early December

On November 18, Kazakh Foreign Minister Mukhtar Telyberdi announced that the next round of Astana talks on the crisis in Syria could be held in early December in the capital, Nur Sultan.

Teleberde said his ministry is waiting for an official request from the guarantors of the Astana process (Russia, Iran and Turkey).

Earlier this month, Kazakh Foreign Ministry spokesman Ipek Smedyarov announced that the next round of Astana talks could be held in late November or early next month in Nur Sultan.

Astana meetings have been taking place in the Kazakh capital since the beginning of 2017 and there have been so far 13 meetings, one of them in the Russian city of Sochi.
