The German Green Party calls for imposing sanctions on Erdogan’s regime for its ongoing aggression on Syrian territory

The German Green Party today renewed its call for Chancellor Angela Merkel’s government to impose sanctions on the regime of Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and end the refugee agreement signed with him on the backdrop of his continued aggression on Syrian territory.

At the conclusion of the activities of the Federal conference, the party issued a resolution calling for imposing sanctions on the Turkish regime for its aggression against northern Syria, including financial sanctions against its president, members of his government and army chiefs in addition to complete boycott  on the export of arms to Turkey, according to Deutsche Welle site.

The party’s decision also stipulates for stopping the so-called Hermes guarantees to secure the German exports to Turkey and end the refugee agreement with it, through which the regime of Erdogan receives a large amount of money in return for preventing refugees from crossing into Europe.

The Turkish regime forces are launching an aggression on the Syrian countrysides of Hasakahand Raqqa in parallel with the targeting of several villages and towns, focusing on infrastructure and vital facilities such as water and electricity stations, dams, oil installations and residential neighborhoods and causing the death of a number of civilians as well as extensive damage and destruction of infrastructure.
