On the occasion of the 49th anniversary of the Correctionist Movement, al- Mouwasa University Hospital in Damascus today put a number of accomplished projects into service, including the restoration of various sections for emergency, operations and care and the application of the electronic role system in outpatient clinics and the general laboratory at an estimated cost of 1.4 billion Syrian pounds.
The projects also included renovating the fifth floor with a capacity of 100 beds, completing the programs of operating the new resonator device to conduct more than 60 free of charge cases to the hospital patients per day and at a nominal price for outpatients, the restoration of the ears section for women and the rehabilitation of the nursery that takes care of the children of the hospital staff.
In a statement to the reporters, Minister of Higher Education Dr. Bassam Ibrahim said al- Mowasa Hospital’s projects are an important achievement that contributes to improving the level of medical and therapeutic services provided to patients free of charge in addition to upgrading quality educational services for students of the Faculty of Medicine. The government is attaching great importance to the health sector through carrying out a lot of restoration and innovation incessant operations and is always seeking to provide medical equipment and medicines for all hospitals, where it allocates 45 billion Syrian pounds annually to support hospitals.
In turn, Director of the hospital, Dr. Essam Al-Amin, said that the completed projects constitute a qualitative shift in the work in terms of quantity and quality in addition to serving the academic side, noting that the hospital despite the difficult war conditions keep working and providing free service plus putting start to further vital development projects in order to achieve the best health service for the citizen.
A number of doctors and heads of departments confirmed that the development projects included vital and important departments in the hospital to be ready to receive patients in the best way and provide the necessary medical service according to the latest international standards, pointing out that all departments are equipped with qualified nursing staff in order to provide nursing care and implement the medical plan laid down by supervising doctors and specialists.
It’s noteworthy that al- Mouwasat University Hospital, which was established in 1956 under Law 251, is one of the largest scientific, educational and service centers offering health care via most up to date technologies in various surgical operations.
