Indian parties voice solidarity with Syria in confrontation of terrorists, occupiers

NEW DELHI, (ST)- Several Indian parties have stressed their  support for Syria in the confrontation of the terrorist war and the Turkish invasion.

 The official in charge of foreign relations at the Indian ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Fijai chutta affirmed during his meeting on Saturday with a Syrian delegation led by Member of the Central Committee of the Baath Arab Socialist Party (BASP) Muhsen Bilal the deep Indian-Syrian relations. He reiterated the need to exchange visits between party officials from both countries in order to enhance cooperation between the BJP and the BASP and consequently establish more rapprochement  at the popular and official levels.

  Bilal said that Syria highly appreciates India’s assistance to Syrian students of different specializations to complete their studies in Indian universities, expressing hope that this support will be expanded to include India’s participation in Syria’s process of reconstruction.

Bilal also met with Secretary General of the Indian Communist Party (Marxist) Sitaram Yechury who reaffirmed his strong condemnation of the Turkish aggression on the Syrian territories and expressed his full solidarity with the Syrian government and people in their battle to eliminate terrorism and expel the occupiers.
