Entrepreneurship Training Camp Project By the JCI‘s Lattakia Branch

The Junior Chamber International ( JCI) in Lattakia province in cooperation with the Tartous province ‘s branch of the Syrian Arab Red Crescent ( SARC) launched on Sunday the entrepreneurship camp project at the training camp of the ( SARC) site in Banias province.

The five-day project is an incentive for creativity and for attracting youth entrepreneurs. intensive training is due to be carried out by entrepreneurship specialists to support the trainees’ own projects and working plans.

“The Entrepreneurship training  Camp project aims to provide an opportunity for learning, interaction and cooperation in the business field in Lattakia”, Kheder Barakat, Head of the entrepreneurship camp project said in a statement to the Syriatimes e-newspaper.

He underscored that the camp will help the participants take the first steps to start their own business, communicate with the investment sides, provide a positive working environment for the participants and strengthen the professional abilities of the young  generation that aspire to develop themselves.

The Entrepreneurship Camp project consists of 3 stages ; the first one is the preparation stage which includes receiving the participants’ proposed projects to choose  16 of them.

The second stage of the project is the contestants’ camping for 5 days at SARC camp site in Banias to attend intensive and organized practical tests which contribute to building their teamwork skills and develop their projects. Specialized training is also included in this stage.

During the last stage, which will last two weeks, the jury committee will choose the winning projects which are due to be honored with the participation of a number of  Syrian investment bodies to increase the participants’ chances to implement  their projects on the ground.

“The entrepreneurship camp project is important because it responds to the needs of the labor market and it coincides with Syria witnessing a reconstruction process which necessitates launching entrepreneurial projects,” Haitham Shreteh, the local president of the JCI said.

He stressed that the  JCI considers that developing the Syrian youths’ abilities is a goal and a necessity and that the entrepreneurship camp project forms an important experience in Syria in general and in Lattakia in particular.

 On his part the local vice-president of the JCI  Mohammad Abu Moussa said  “the Entrepreneurship Camp is an intensive interactive and educational training project that aims  at  providing students and entrepreneurs with a unique experience in developing the skills which are necessary for professional success and enhancing the role of youths in leading economic development in Lattakia.
