Nasrallah: Resistance is now in its height of power

BEIRUT, (ST)- Hizbollah Secretary General Hassan Nasrallah has affirmed that resistance is now at its height of power being part of the victorious axis that foiled the terrorist takfiri scheme against the Middle East region.

In a televised speech on Monday during Hezbollah ceremony marking Martyr’s Day, Nasrallah reiterated that resistance has offered martyrs to achieve victories for Lebanon embodied in the liberation of south Lebanon and the releasing of several captives from occupation jails. It has foiled the schemes of the Israeli and takfiri enemies and obliged  the Zionist leaders to stop viewing Lebanon as an easy-to-be-invaded country, he said.

Nasrallah stressed that the Americans are exploiting the ongoing demonstrations in Lebanon to fulfill their own interests and advance their agenda.

He noted that the demonstrations in the country have made the Lebanese more united than ever in their fight against corruption, adding, the ongoing protests in Lebanon prevent any political faction from protecting those involved in corruption crimes. He added that all the Lebanese should take part in the fight against corruption by cooperating with the judiciary.

Hizbollah Chief went on to say that the US sanctions have hampered the growth of Lebanon’s economy.

Nasrallah made it clear that the United States has blocked economic routes between Lebanon and Iraq and it has not allowed the opening of the border crossing which connects the town of Bukamal in Syria’s province of Deir Ezour to the city of Husaybah in the al-Qa’im district of Iraq’s western province of Anbar.

Nasrallah dismissed as “unfounded and absurd” the latest remarks by US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo concerning Iran’s influence in Lebanon. He said that Iran has remained steadfast in the face of pressure by the United States and its allies.
