Boroujerdi reaffirms Iran’s commitment to Syria’s sovereignty, territorial Integrity

TEHRAN, (ST)-  Head of the National Security and Foreign Policy Commission at the Iranian Shoura Council (Parliament) Alaeddin Boroujerdi has reaffirmed his country’s commitment to Syria’s sovereignty, unity and territorial integrity.

During a meeting on Saturday with Hussein Ragheb, a member of the Syrian People’s Assembly” and deputy head of the Syria-Iranian Friendship Society, Boroujerdi said that Iran is against any form of Turkish invasion of Syria and it rejects all attempts to justify this invasion.

He pointed out that the Iranian parliament welcomes all procedures that aim at enhancing relations between Damascus and Tehran in the confrontation of the unilateral coercive measures imposed by the United States on both countries. He called for boosting cooperation in all fields to further strengthen the deep-rooted friendly ties between the two countries.

  On his part, the Syrian MP reiterated the illegality of the coercive economic measures being imposed on the peoples of Syria and Iran.
