“Made in Syria” Family Shopping Festival in Tartous

The monthly “Made in Syria” Family Shopping Festival, currently held in Tartous province, is witnessing a remarkable turnout that reflects the importance of this event in reactivating the economic and social movement as well as in promoting Syrian goods.

130 industrial and commercial companies from different provinces specialized in engineering, health, food, textile and electrical industries are taking part in the festival, which is held by Damascus and Damascus Countryside’s chamber of commerce.

Talal Kalaji, chairman of the festival’s organizing committee, told SANA correspondent that “holding such important economic activities is a key opportunity to support the national economy and to stress that Syrian industry is recovering despite the coercive economic blockade imposed on the Syrian people.”

Kalaji pointed out that the festival exhibited a wide range of local industries and hand-made products including food, textile, detergents, chemical and engineering goods as well as hand-woven carpets.

He stressed that the festival is a chance for families to buy their basic needs, especially at a discount range between 20-60% which enables low-income citizens to buy what they needat a suitable price. He indicated that the festival provides purchase vouchers free of charge to martyrs’ families.

On his part, the chairman of the sale outlets at the Syria for Trade branch, Eng. Issam Baddour stressed keenness on constant participation in different activities which come within the framework of the positive interference to support the citizens.

Visitors of the festival expressed their admiration over the exhibited products which are being offered at suitable prices to meet citizens’ needs.

The festival will last till the 9th of November.
