The opening of schools and universities in some Lebanese areas while the army continues to secure roads

Beirut,(ST) –  Schools, universities and institutions in some areas of Lebanon have reopened today after more than two weeks of popular protests demanding better living conditions.

Since yesterday, the Lebanese army and security forces have opened all public and secondary roads in Beirut and the rest of Lebanon to traffic and have removed obstacles and tents placed by protesters in nearby roads and squares that are now safe from Beirut to the north to the south and the Bekaa.

The Lebanese National News Agency reported that limited protests took place today in some areas, while some roads were closed in addition to schools and banks in Akkar, Minieh and Tripoli.

There have been demonstrations and sit-ins in many Lebanese regions since the 17th of last month to protest against the deteriorating living and economic conditions.
