Turkish authorities have issued arrest warrants for 112 people, 81 of them have been arrested under the pretext of being linked to Fethullah Gulen, whom Recep Tayyip Erdogan’s regime accuses of being behind the 2016 coup attempt.
“Prosecutors in Ankara have issued arrest warrants for 94 people on charges of using the Gulen “Baylok” messaging application, 67 of them have been arrested, while 27 others are still being sought,” the state-run Anatolia News Agency quoted the prosecutor’s office as saying in a statement.
Prosecutors also issued arrest warrants for 18 former soldiers, 14 of them have been arrested in raids and arrests operations in six provinces.
Since the coup attempt, Erdogan’s regime has waged a severe crackdown on his opponents and rivals, arresting and removing tens of thousands of people in various civil and military institutions in the country.
