Beirut,ST- Protests continued in Lebanon today with the closure of roads in a number of areas demanding better living conditions amid attempts by the Lebanese army and security forces to open roads.
The Lebanese National News Agency (NNA) reported that the demonstrators closed several roads in the capital Beirut, Khalde, Choueifat, Saida, Beirut and Zahleh, as well as closing the international road at Aley roundabout in two directions, the international road in Baalshmeh and the road between Tripoli, Beirut and the Bekaa, while the army tried to open many of these roads.
Protesters erected a large sit-in tent under the Khalda bridge, while public and private schools, universities and banks in Aley and Metn were closed.
Many Lebanese regions witnessed demonstrations since the 17th of last month in protest against the deteriorating living and economic conditions.
