Erdogan terrorists prevent drinking water from the people of Hasaka

The terrorist groups supported by the Turkish regime continue to prevent expert teams from reaching the Alouk station in the eastern countryside of Ras Al-Ayn to re-operate the station, which is the main source of drinking water for the people of Al- Hasaka.

SANA correspondent in al-Hasaka said that the terrorist groups that control the water wells station in the eastern countryside of Ras al-Ayn, which was bombed with the start of the Turkish aggression on the Syrian territory, are still preventing the access of the technical crews to the station to re-operate it, causing water shortages from many cities and villages.

Alouk station is the main source of drinking water for more than 700 thousand inhabitants of al-Hasaka governorate. The incessant control of terrorists on al-Alouk station and its exits are depriving the locals of clean drinking water, which is now being replaced by the water of dams and some wells that do not meet the essential requirements for portable water and are marked by turbidity.

The power supply lines of the station were targeted with the start of the Turkish aggression on the Syrian territory, which led to the shortages of water from the city.

On October 19, the technical teams repaired the electrical lines feeding the station, but the station stopped pumping a week ago after the control of terrorists on the area.

A source at the Public Institution for Drinking Water in al-Hasakah told SANA that more than one attempt to reach the station via the Syrian Red Crescent has failed due to the terrorists, which has led to water being cut off for more than 6 days as the workers were prevented from entering the station to re-operate and detect it.

The source pointed out that the Institution will depend on the quantity of water stored in the eastern dam to supply the city with water, although the stored quantities are small and unreliable.

The source underlined the urgency of finding a way to re-operate the wells of Alouk, stressing that the process of pumping from the dam to the city began Tuesday night.

Since the station has been out of service from the beginning of the Turkish aggression on the Syrian territory due to the targeting of power lines feeding it, the governorate has taken measures to provide water to the people, where 8 wells have been operated in the city center to provide water for domestic use, but the needs of the city of Al-Hasakah far outweigh this capacity.
