With the participation of more than 50 local, Arab and foreign companies, the activities of the Syrian International Petroleum and Mineral Resources Exhibition “Serpetro” kicked off at the fairground in Damascus International Airport.
Organized by Mashhadani International Group for Exhibitions and Conferences, the exhibition includes companies specialized in oil industry which work in the field of “exploration, drilling, extraction, oil refining and marketing operations” and companies of oil services, maintenance, spare parts, transport, logistics, consultation studies, production and marketing of mineral oil. The exhibition will also include companies working in the field of geology and mineral resource.
Khalaf Mashhadani, General Manager of the Organizing Group, said in a statement to SANA that the companies work in many areas in the oil sector, beginning from exploration and drilling operations to production and marketing.
“The exhibition is a message reflecting the continuity of work in the oil sector in Syria”, Mashhadani added, “the exhibition is held annually and is a periodical opportunity for those interested, experts and specialists to exchange experiences, experiences and ideas that contribute to shaping the future features of the energy and oil sector in Syria, especially in the reconstruction phase”.
A number of participants stressed the importance of the exhibition in shedding light on the work of the companies operating in this sector.
Director of one of the companies of the Arab Businessmen Forum in China Mohammad al-Khouli said that the exhibition is an opportunity to exchange experiences among Arab, Chinese and Syrian companies and showcase his company’s specialization in the field of transport equipment and machinery of oil, pointing out that a number of Chinese companies are willing to participate in the next holding of the exhibition.
The exhibition allowed them to introduce their new company in the oil sector and its advanced technology which is based on locating areas of oil and its derivatives accurately in order to avoid the failed exploration operations, Dr. Nidal Jony, Consultant of the Belarusian Petroservice Company said, expressing hope for cooperation between Syrian and Belarusian companies
Chairman of the Board of Directors of Deir Ezzor Oil Company Marwan Al-Najm said that the exhibition confirms the recovery of the oil sector in Syria, underling the urgency of the presence of Syrian companies in the exhibition to confirm the role played by local ones.
Eng. Hussam Eddin Laila, from Banias Refinery Company, highlighted the importance of the exhibition in showcasing products of the company which resume work and production despite the difficulties imposed by the terrorist war on Syria.
Activities of the Syrian International Petroleum and Mineral Resources Exhibition will continues until the 29th of this month.
