Egyptian parliament condemns Turkish aggression on Syria

Speaker of the Egyptian Parliament, Dr. Ali Abdel-Aal, reaffirmed today the condemnation of Egypt and its people of the Turkish aggression on Syrian territories, describing Turkey as a barbaric invader.

In a speech during a session of the Egyptian Parliament, Abdel-Aa l said that the Turkish aggressor forces are described as invaders because the invading forces are not governed by international rules. This is the same as the Turkish leadership, which pursues barbaric acts that breach the law and the UN Charter.

Dr. Abdel-Aal asserted that the principle of non-interference in Syrian affairs and the political solution to the crisis is the Egyptian policy approach.

For his part, MP Ahmed Raslan, Head of the Arab Relations Committee in the Egyptian Parliament, said in his speech that the barbaric attack launched by the Turkish forces on Syrian territory returns humanity to the law of the jungle and contravenes the rules of international law and legitimacy. The Turkish aggression is a violation of Syria’s sovereignty, unity and territorial integrity and poses a threat to the political process in Syria in accordance to the UN Security Council Resolution No. 2254 as well as to stability and security in the entire region, Raslan added.

Raslan said that the brutal aggression is an implementation of the agenda of the Muslim Brotherhood terrorist organization which is supported by the President of the Turkish regime Recep Tayyip Erdogan, and rejected by the majority of the Turkish people. Moreover this aggression reveals the Turkish ambitions which Egypt warned against in the region.

Raslan pointed out that the Arab Affairs Committee in the Egyptian Parliament closely follows up the Turkish aggression on Syria and calls for a complete Arab boycott of Turkey economically, commercially, politically and touristically. Raslan called on Arab countries to expel the ambassadors of the Turkish regime from their territories and to withdraw the Arab ambassadors to Turkey in order to stop the aggression on Syrian territory.

During his meeting with the Charge d’Affaires of the Syrian Embassy in Cairo Dr. Bassam Darwish at the Egyptian Parliament, MP Ruslan affirmed the Egyptian people’s support to the Syrian people and the strong relations between the peoples of the two countries.

For his part, Darwish highlighted the positions supporting the right and Syria’s war against terrorism, which was funded and facilitated by the Turkish criminal regime headed by Erdogan.

Darwish also delivered an official memorandum providing for the formation of the Syrian-Egyptian fraternity committee in the Syrian People’s Assembly, underlining the importance of boosting the deep-rooted relations between the parliaments of the two countries.
