Egypt: Turkish aggression on Syrian territories violates international law

CAIRO, (ST) – Egypt reiterated that the blatant Turkish aggression on Syrian territories violates international law and negatively affects the course of political solution to the crisis in the country.

The Egyptian Foreign Ministry said in a statement today that it is following with deep dismay and concern the ongoing Turkish aggression on Syrian territories and the related violations of the rules of international lawand the resulting serious repercussions on the humanitarian situation by the loss of lives and the displacement of tens of thousands as well as the negative effects of this aggression on the course of the political settlement process in Syria. ”

The ongoing Turkish aggression on Syrian territories in the countryside of al-Hasakah and Raqqa  resulted in the death and injury of dozens of civilians, the destruction of the infrastructure of power conversion stations, damage to the electrical networks that feed the stations of Aluk and al-Mabrouka, the theft of grain from silos, the destruction of houses and the targeting of ovens, churches and mosques by brutal shelling of the Turkish occupation forces to displace tens of thousands of civilians from their areas.
