A Democratic candidate: The US administration used Al-Qaeda to fight the Syrian government

The Democratic candidate who seeks to run for the US presidential election Tulsi Gabbard confirmed that the US administration is using Al-Qaeda terrorist organization to fight the Syrian government.

“As President, I would guarantee that we will stop supporting terrorists like al-Qaeda in Syria, which our government uses as ground forces in the war to change the government there,” American Fox News TV channel quoted Gabard as saying during a debate among Democratic presidential candidates.

Gabbard described the report published by New York Times which characterized her as pro Russia and a defender of the Syrian government as “disgusting”.

Gabard promised to lift the sanctions, which have caused great human suffering to the Syrian people, and to put an end to the Saudi regime’s war against Yemen.

Last January, the US Congresswoman Gabbard announced her candidacy for the US presidential election due to be conducted in 2020.

In previous statements, Gabard said that the US government has provided direct and indirect support to the armed groups which have allied with terrorist organizations such as “Al-Qaeda” and “Daesh”, calling on the US administration to stop supporting terrorist organizations, which Washington calls “moderate opposition”.
