Tajik Envoy Stresses His Country’s Keenness on Enhancing Relations with Syria

DAMASCUS, (ST)- Tajikistan Ambassador in Kuwait Zubaydullo Zubaydov has stressed his country’s support for Syria’s sovereignty, unity and independence and for its fight against terrorist organizations until the entire Syrian territory is liberated from terrorism.

Zubaydov, who is  in Damascus on an official visit, affirmed Syria’s key role in the region and reiterated the need to preserve its stability, calling for cooperation among all countries in the issue of fighting global terrorism.

In a statement to SANA, the Tajik envoy made it clear that the Main Stream Media doesn’t convey the truth about events in Syria, pointing out that despite the disinformation campaign launched at the beginning of the crisis in the country, the Syrian people managed to keep steadfast and achieve victory over terrorism.

 Zubaydo, who expressed happiness over the return of security and stability to the streets and markets of Damascus, said that his country is keen on enhancing its relations with Syria in all domains and on participating in the reconstruction of Syria.

He added that he held talks yesterday with Syria’s Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Faysal al-Mikdad on ways to boost bilateral ties and on continuous political consultations aiming at reactivating the signed agreements between Syria and Tajikistan. He hoped that the consultations will start soon in Tajikistan at the level of foreign ministers.

The Tajik envoy pointed out that President Emomali Rahmon of Tajikistan visited Damascus in 2007. During the visit, seven cooperation agreements were signed in the fields of economy, education, tourism, culture, media and investment, he said.
