Syrian-Jordanian talks to develop parliamentary and economic relations

Damascus (ST)_ On Monday, the Syrian-Jordanian parliamentary committee discussed with the Charge d’Affaires at the Jordanian Embassy in Damascus, Mr. Assem Al-Ababneh; the role of parliamentarians in enhancing bilateral cooperation.

The two sides discussed the role of the parliaments’ cooperation in solving a number of lingering issues and obstacles in trade, economy, and transport. They stressed in this context the role of the Committee in the contribution to the development of relations between the two countries at the parliamentary level.

For his part, Ababneh affirmed his country’s keenness to communicate and cooperate with the Syrian government and to improve relations between parliamentarians in the two countries, to overcome all obstacles that hinder the development of economy and trade. He stated that long history of brotherhood and neighborhood between the two people cannot be changed by any pressure or circumstances.

Chairman of the Syrian-Jordanian Brotherhood Committee, Nayef Taleb Al-Hariri, pointed out to the aspirations of parliamentarians in both countries was to strengthen bilateral relations; which recently witnessed a remarkable development after the opening of the Naseeb-Jaber Crossing since the Syrian Arab Army restored security and stability to the region.
