Former Turkish official: Erdogan goes ahead with supporting terrorists in Syria

ANKARA, (ST)_The former Turkish Minister of Culture Fikri Sağlar has affirmed that the head of the Turkish regime Recep Tayyip Erdoğan is still supporting terrorists in Syria and obstructing the resolution  that would help the ongoing crisis in it.

In an interview with the Turkish (Tele 1) tv channel, the former official made it clear that Erdogan regime’s support to terrorists in Syria, especially in Idleb province, is the main reason behind his objection to any Syrian army’s military operation in this province in which tens of thousands of terrorists, most of them of foreign nationalities, exist.

Sağlar called on Erdogan to hold talks with the Syrian state if he is serious in his statements about supporting Syria’s sovereignty and unity.

On the other hand, the ex-Turkish minister underscored the need to confront Erdogan’s dangerous policy at internal and external levels before he destroys Turkey. Erdogan’s rule lacks the minimum standards of democracy and human rights.

In 2016, Erdogan exploited the attempt of coup d’état against him and launched campaigns of mass arrests and dismissals of tens of thousands of Turkish citizens in all military and civil institutes. He also closed many media outlets and declared a state of emergency to get rid of his opponent and to tighten his grip on the country.
