Families of Interior Security Forces Martyrs honored

DAMASCUS,(ST)_ Commemorating values of martyrdom and martyrs the Ministry of the Interior on Monday honored several families of security forces members killed by armed terrorist groups.

During the ceremony, Interior Minister Mohamed Ibrahim al-Shaar said ” Syria is strong by the determination of its people and martyrs who sacrificed themselves in defending the homeland,” pointing out hostile media role in falsifying facts and fabricating news that plant strife and shed Syrian blood, funded by Arab and Western sides.

“Thanks to sacrifices of the army and internal security forces , terrorists suffer great losses and thereby resorted to acts of bombing and sabotage , claiming lives of innocent citizens,” the minister said,  stressing that ” terrorists brutality will not discourage Syria ‘s heroes from abiding to the sacred duty to challenge terrorists and restore security and safety to the homeland.”

He described the aggression carried out by the Zionist enemy against certain sites in Damascus countryside on Sunday as a flagrant violation of all norms of international law and confirmed the deep link between the Zionist entity and terrorist groups, pointing out that Syria has all the means as a deterrent power and the right to defend its territory and sovereignty at any time.

For their part, martyrs families expressed appreciation for the sacrifices of the Syrian Arab army and internal security forces in protecting Syria, stressing that they will spare no efforts to deter any terrorist attack inside or outside the country.

After awarding material and honorary gifts to martyrs families , the minister listened to observations they raised and promised settling them accordingly .
