Cuba FM expresses his country support for a peaceful solution of the crisis in Syria without outside interference

Cuban Foreign Minister Bruno Rodriguez expressed his country’s support for a peaceful solution to the Syrian crisis without outside interference.

“We reject any direct or indirect external interference in Syria without the approval of the Syrian legitimate authorities” Bruno Rodriguer said in his speech to the UN General Assembly on September 28.

Rodriguer said that the economic, commercial and financial embargo imposed nearly 60 years ago remains the main obstacle to Cuba’s development.

He said that the illegal Helms Burton Act, which Washington decided to enact Chapter III this year reflects the aggressive behavior of the United States against Cuba.

Rodriguez expressed his country’s support for a comprehensive and just solution to the Arab-Israeli conflict, which allows the Palestinian Arab people to exercise their right to self-determination and establish their independent state on the1967 borders with East Jerusalem as its capital.

Rodriguez expressed Cuba’s solidarity with Iran in the face of the aggressive escalation of Washington, stressing his country’s rejection of the unilateral withdrawal of the United States from the nuclear agreement.

Rodriguez welcomed the inter-Korean dialogue process, pointing to the need to reach a permanent political solution in that region through negotiations.

Rodriguez warned that the continued expansion of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) towards the Russiaan borders is a real danger, rejecting the arbitrary sanctions imposed on Russia.
