G77+China Condemn Unilateral Decisions to Make Demographic Change in Occupied Syrian Golan

NEW YORK, (ST)- The unilateral decisions aiming at changing the demographic structure of the occupied Syrian Golan and the occupied Palestinian territories are of no legal effect and they must be cancelled in implementation of the relevant Security Council resolutions, the foreign ministers of Group77 and China stressed in a condemnation statement on Friday.

The foreign ministers made the statement during their 44th annual meeting at the UN headquarters in New York  in response to the United States’ declaration on recognizing Israel’s sovereignty over the occupied Syrian Golan.

They also affirmed their rejection of the unilateral coercive economic measures imposed on Syria and several other countries, pointing out that these measures hamper development in these countries and badly affect the people’s living.

They called for an immediate lifting of these illegal and void measures which violate the international law and the UN Charter.
