Reporters from Europe, Asia and Latin America Cover Rehabilitation Works in Aleppo’s Sheikh Najjar Industrial Zone, Old City

ALEPPO, (ST)- A delegation representing 60 media outlets from Europe, Asia and Latin America visited the Syrian province of Aleppo to see the destruction caused to its tourist sites and economic facilities by the takfiri terrorists before they were defeated. The reporters were also briefed on the efforts being exerted to rebuild what terrorism had destroyed in the city.   

The delegation visited the Sheikh Najjar Industrial Zone and was briefed on the restoration and rehabilitation activities carried out in the zone aiming at re-operating its industrial facilities which specialize in textile, engineering, food and chemical industries. The delegation’s tour included some industrial factories which have already resumed work.

The reporters also visited Aleppo old city, the Ummayad Mosque, Aleppo Citadel, and the old markets where they saw the restoration works to fix the damage caused to those heritage sites. The delegation mainly visited al-Saqteya market where more than fifty shops have been rehabilitated to encourage traders to return and revive Aleppo’s old markets.

The delegation’s last stop in Aleppo was the Aleppo governorate’s headquarter, where they met the Governor Hassan Deyab who explained the reconstruction era Aleppo is currently witnessing.
