Vershinin: US Claims on Syrian Army Using Chemical Weapons in Lattakia Aim at Hindering Settlement in Syria
On his part, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergey Vershinin has stressed that Washington’s claims that the Syrian army had used chemical weapons in Lattakia province aim at hindering the improvement of the situation in Syria, particularly the political process.

“It seems strange to us that every time some positive shifts happen, particularly in the political process, statements emerge aiming at undermining the improvement of the situation in Syria,” Vershinin told reporters on Friday, regretting that Washington made such claims.
On May 25th, the Syrian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates affirmed that fake news about the Syrian Arab army using chemical weapons in Kabani town in Lattakia are nothing but a prelude to a new round of western lies aiming at threatening the Syrian government and army. The ministry reiterated that such allegations will not dissuade the Syrian Army to continue fighting terrorism.
