China strongly condemns the US Congress resolution on Hong Kong

On September 26, China strongly condemned the US Congress resolution on Hong Kong under the guise of human rights, saying it is a serious violation of international laws and will adversely affect relations between Beijing and Washington.

On September 25, the United States House Foreign Affairs Committee and the Senate Foreign Relations Committee approved a bill called ‘Human Rights and Democracy in Hong Kong for 2019’.

“We strongly condemn and firmly oppose such blatant interference in China’s internal affairs, the serious violation of international laws and basic rules governing international relations,” the spokesman of the Chinese State’s Council Hong Kong and Macao Affairs Office said.

He added that Hong Kong belongs to China and its affairs are purely internal Chinese affairs and cannot tolerate the interference of any outside powers.

he said that this American behavior will seriously harm Chinese -US relations and will not benefit the United States itself.

On September 23, Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi called on the United States not to interfere in the Chinese internal affairs.
