On September 22, the Cabinet discussed extensively the economic situation in light of the daily changes imposed by the war and the necessary measures toenhance the national economy, financial resources and production.
The Cabinet decided to direct spending funds and loans towards production and development, take all measures to strengthen the Syrian Pound and follow-up the performance of private companies and their role in the development process.
During the Cabinet’s weekly meeting, chaired by Prime Minister Eng. Emad Khamis, the Cabinet called on the Ministry of Petroleum and Mineral Resources to ensure the citizens’ needs of heating oil before the winter season to prevent any shortages.
The Cabinet agreed to increase the value of the compensation given to the wounded of the Popular Defense Forces by the degrees of disability of 70 to 75 % to SYP 30.000 monthly paid by the National Fund for Social Assistance for a period of ten years.
The Cabinet adopted a set of controls to ensure the efficiency and impartiality of the committees concerned with the conduct ofinterviews for jobs in the public sector organizations.
The Minister of Economy and Foreign Trade Mohammad Sameral-Khalil said that the meeting dealt with the measures and mechanisms of how toincrease revenues and rationalize spending.
