Escalation of Occupation Settlement Schemes in the West Bank amid US Encouragement

Occupied al-Quds (Jerusalem), (ST) – The National Bureau for the Defense of Land and Resistance of the Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO) confirmed that the Israeli occupation authorities continue to violate the resolutions of international legitimacy and the seizure of Palestinian land in the West Bank, especially in occupied al-Quds (Jerusalem) amid clear US encouragement to implement its colonial settlement plans.

In its weekly report, the office said that Israeli settlement schemes in the West Bank, including al-Quds (Jerusalem), are not stopping, but are escalating as the Palestinian government continues to demand from the international community to compel the occupation authorities to implement the resolutions of international legitimacy, especially resolution 2334, which calls for an immediate halt to settlements, Wafa News Agency quoted.

The report, which covers the period from 14 to 20 of September clarified that the Israeli occupation forces swept Palestinian land in the town of Abu Dis, southeast of occupied al-Quds (Jerusalem) in order to implement a settlement plan in the area between the towns of Abu Dis and Jabal Mukaber, which was declared by the Israeli authorities as a part of Jewish settlement units.

The Israeli occupation forces continued their aggressive practices against the Palestinians with a view to displacing them and seizing their lands. They demolished a house and two agricultural facilities in the village of Al-Walaja, northwest of Bethlehem. They also razed areas of agricultural land estimated at 145 dunums in the village of Hajja, east of Qalqilya, 2 dunums in the village of Hajja east of Qalqilya in order to expand a settlement on the Palestinian land in the area.

The report pointed out that the Israeli occupation forces stormed with a number of bulldozers the village of Burqin, west of Salfit, and razed Palestinian lands and uprooted nearly 100 olive trees in the village of Khirbet Qarqash in the northeast of the village. Bardala village in the northern Jordan Valley in the West Bank and raided the rooms of water pumps to prevent its arrival to Palestinian homes.

The report  also referred  to the continued violations of Israeli settlers under the protection of the occupation forces, where they assaulted Palestinian homes in the village of Ainbus south of Nablus amid Israeli occupation forces poison gas bombs, which led to a number of Palestinians suffocated cases, while dozens of settlers stormed the Bab Al-Zawiya and Beersheba Street downtown Hebron, Halhoul and Jdour archaeological area in the northern town of Beit Ummar and Jabal Tarousa west of the town of Dura in the south and assaulted the Palestinian lands and properties in its east.

In the West Bank city of Ramallah, a group of settlers assaulted Palestinian farmers while working on their land near the town of Barqa, east of the city, wounding a farmer in the head, In addition, a child was seriously injured and several others were injured after a number of settlers stormed the village of Al-Mazra’a Al-Gharbiya, north of the city.
