The Ministry of Local Administration and Environment announced today the launching of the “Silat Wasel” platform, which allows citizens to express their opinions and submit complaints related to the work of the Ministry and its directorates in all governorates. The launch was announced during a meeting of officials of the Ministries of Local Administration and Environment and Administrative Development.
The “Silat Wasel” platform is an interactive electronic platform that allows citizens to evaluate and express opinions and submit complaints related to the performance of public authorities to address them. The Ministry of Administrative Development announced the launch of this platform in its pavilion at the 61st Damascus International Fair in cooperation with the Ministries of Public Works, Housing, Local Administration and Environment.
During the meeting, Minister of Local Administration and Environment Hussein Makhlouf explained that the implementation of the project will start as of today at the Ministry’s directorates, underlining the necessity to encourage the dissemination of the culture of opinion poll as a mean to motivate the citizen to be partner in developing the Ministry’s performance and the services provided to him.
Makhlouf stressed working as a team with the Ministry of Administrative Development to implement the project, considering it as “a qualitative step which would develop work and reflect positively on the services provided to citizens”.
Minister of Administrative Development Dr. Salam Safaf gave a presentation on the executive program document of the project and an explanation on two of its applications “All for combating Corruption” and “Citizen Satisfaction” to serve the interests of the governorates’ work, pointing out that the Ministry of Local Administration and the Environment was selected to implement the project as it is considered the representative of the governmental authorities which enjoy efficiency and professionalism due to its direct and incessant communication with the citizen.
In a statement to SANA, the Deputy Director of Administrative Support and Leadership at the Ministry of Administrative Development Heba Al-Ghazoul, pointed out that the citizen through the platform can submit complaints to the Ministry and evaluate its work and services, adding that we are currently explaining the process of application.
