Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov reiterated his country’s emphasis on the need to exert efforts to eliminate terrorism in Syria and resolve the crisis in Syria in accordance with UN resolution 2254 and facilitate the return of the displaced people to their country.
“We agreed on the need to continue the fight against terrorism in Syria and to advance the resolution of the crisis in Syria in accordance with Security Council Resolution 2254 and to facilitate the return of displaced Syrians to their country,” Lavrov said in a news conference with his French counterpart, Jean-Yves Laudrian in Moscow.
UN Resolution 2254, adopted in December 2015, affirms that Syrians only determine their country’s future without any foreign interference and that terrorist organizations are outside any political process.
