On September 8, the Syrian Cabinet decided to expand the scope of work of the Syrian Trading Company and increase the number of its sales outlets in all Syrian governorates to reach 3,000 outlets within the coming three months.
The Cabinet affirmed that it will continue to subsidize t the citizens’ basic materials, develop the national industry and the production process and reduce the costs of production inputs to help reduce the prices of Syrian-made goods and products.
The Minister of Internal Trade and Consumer Protection Dr. Atef Naddaf, stressed the importance of support for the Syrian Trading Company ‘Syria’ to trade in terms of horizontal expansion in new outlets.
During its weekly session chaired by Prime Minister Eng. Imad Khamis, the Cabinet asked the ministries of the Cabinet’s Economic Committee to monitor the results of the 61st Damascus International Fair, especially in terms of contracts of import and export and trade exchanges with the participating countries and companies.
The Cabinet discussed the General Establishment of Social Securities’ statue and issues so as to be able to expand its services base to achieve its goal as a social security institution. The Cabinet ordered the public and private bodies to pay their insurance fees and contributions.
The Cabinet demanded from the Ministry of Public Works and Housing to lay down a timetable for the completion of youth housing projects in the governorates.
The Minister of Water Resources Hussein Arnous made a presentation on the completion rates of service projects in the liberated countryside of Raqqa Governorate.
For her part, Minister of Social Affairs and Labor Rima Qadiri said that the General Establishment of Social Securities paid about 600 billion Syrian pounds to 500.000 retired employees during wartime in Syria, and payed monthly about ten billion pounds to the participants, indicating that the number of participants in all sectors of the institution is 1.900.000.
The number of retired people in the privet sector was 811.000, 325.000 of them were Registered since last September.
