On September 4, the Syrian Prime Minister Eng. Emad Khamis visited Damascus International Fair and toured a number of pavilions to see the participation of national companies and events from the public and private sectors in the sixty-first session of it.
Eng. Khamis listened to the participants’ demands on the facilities necessary to promote and support local production to benefit the national economy.
In the pavilion of the Syrian Arab Republic, Eng. Khamis was briefed on the departments of ministries and government companies, including exhibits, products, services and the introduction of new projects for citizens.
He also toured companies participating in “the Textile and Chemical Pavilion”, “ the Engineering, Reconstruction and Technology Pavilion”, “the Agricultural Pavilion” and the Central Committee for Export in the Federation of Syrian Chambers of Commerce’s Pavilion, lauding the efforts exerted by the Syrian cadres to develop the Syrian industry which has already started the recovery phase.
In the Food Pavilion, he listened to the views of the officials of the participating companies regarding their return to work in the areas which were liberated of terrorism and the government facilities needed for this, especially with regard to supporting shipping and exporting, in addition to reviewing the export contracts signed during the Fair.
Eng. Khamis called on participating companies to adhere to the standard specifications and quality standards to give Syrian products a title of excellence in local and foreign markets, calling for accelerating the work and benefit from the Fair in marketing the Syrian-made products locally and abroad.
In a statement to reporters at the end of the tour, Eng. Khamis said: “ The Damascus International Fair in its current session presented a message to the world about the reality of Syria with all its components, pointing out that this session was the largest in terms of areas reserved and its economic, cultural, tourism and social diversity, which shows the Syrian people’s determination and steadfastness.”
Eng. Khamis pointed out that despite all the challenges and difficulties created by the terrorist war, this achievement of the Syrian people was a real product of the sacrifices of our armed forces that gave us victory, which allowed the people of the country to practice their activities.
Eng. Khamis said that there are steps presented and their results have emerged during the past days with regard to the economic aspect, especially the signed contracts, stressing that the public sector as well as the private sector send a real message in the reality of the Syrian economy and the start of production and rebuilding process.
He confirmed that Syria will emerge victorious thanks to the sacrifices of the army and the people as well as the achievements of public and private sector companies.
He said that Syria is opening its doors to everyone who stood with the Syrian people and believes in a relationship of mutual respect.
The Prime Minister Eng. Emad Khamis was accompanied by the Ministers of Economy and Foreign Trade, Agriculture, Agrarian Reform, Petroleum and Mineral Resources, Transport and Water Resources and Director of the General Organization for International Exhibitions and Markets.
