On September 3, upon the directives of President Bashar al-Assad, a ministerial delegation made a visit to the liberated eastern countryside of Raqqa province and Deir Ezzour province.
The delegation inspected the situation of services and rebuilding process of infrastructure in the towns and villages in eastern Raqqa which were liberated by the Syrian Arab army.
The ministerial delegation included Minister of Water Resources Hussein Arnous, Minister of electricity, Mohammad Zouheir Kharboutly, Minister of Local Administration and Environment Hussein Makhlouf and Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources Ali Ghanem.
The delegation visited the village of Albu Hamad and put Albu Hamad electricity power station into service after it had been rebuilt with a cost of 3 billion Syrian Pounds.
The Minister of electricity Mohammad Zouheir Kharboutl said that Albu Hamad power station was totally sabotaged by terrorist groups and it was rebuilt by the Ministry’s engineers and workers.
The Minister of Water Resources Hussein Arnous said:
“This visit comes upon directives of President Basahr al-Assad to check the situation of projects, approved during a previous visit by the Prime Minister to meet needs of the citizens in the provinces of Raqqa and Deir Ezzour.”
The Ministerial delegation also visited the educational compound city of Ma’adan, 50km east of Raqqa city, and inspected the situation of educational process in a number of schools.
The Raqqa Education Directorate’s Director Abdullah al-Hadi said that the number of schools in the liberated rural areas of Raqqa reached 125 schools and 1300 teachers to teach 23.000 students.
The delegation inspected the rebuilding process of the Ma’adan City Council’s building and the Ma’adan and al-Hamadneh Health Centers.
The delegation visited the Muqlah village, 30km east Raqqa city, where they inspected Irrigation Station which waters 6000 hectares and the 800m3 – As Sabkhah Water Pump which is under construction.
