On September 3, the United Nations said that the Saudi-led coalition committed war crimes in Yemen.
Reuters quoted the UN inspectors’ up-to-date report that tackles the Saudi violations in the five -year war against Yemen.
“The United States of America, Britain and France may be conspiratorial in war crimes in Yemen by arming and providing intelligence and logistics support to the Saudi-led collation,” the report said.
The UN report said its independent investigators had sent a secret list to the UN Human Rights’ Chief Michelle Bachelet, including dozens of high-ranking Saudi military officials who may be responsible for war crimes.
The report accused the Saudi-led coalition of carrying out airstrikes against civilians and deliberately denying them food. The report said that the legality of arms transfers by France, the United Kingdom, the United States of America and other States remains questionable.
On September 1, the United Nations Secretary-General’s Special Envoy to Yemen, Martin Griffiths had called for an investigation into the Saudi airstrikes on a prison in the Yemeni city of Dhamar on that killed and injured dozens.
“What happened in Dhamar is a tragedy”, Griffiths said.
