High turnout despite US reckless sabotage attempts

The great success and high turnout of visitors witnessed by the 61st Damascus International Fair delivers a message to the whole world that the Syrian people are capable of defying challenges and overcoming difficulties armed with their love for their homeland and strong determination to rebuild their country following eight years of terrorist war launched against Syria by Israel, the US and their regional tools and Arab lackeys.

 The famous and well-reputed Fair has defied all the extremely harsh coercive economic measures imposed unilaterally on Syria for Syria has  revived and held, surpassing all the repercussions of the war and succeeding to attract many Arab and foreign companies to join its activities. 

The event has achieved great success despite the US attempts to sabotage the event through messages delivered by the US Embassy website in Damascus not to attend the fair, threatening sanctions by the US Department of the Treasury on the participating states.  The United States’ flagrant attempts to weaken the Syrian government’s reconstruction efforts are damaging Syria’s unity, sovereignty and territorial integrity, and they contradict the text and spirit of the international community’s resolutions.

The US calls were severely criticized by many states including Russia and China, because these calls run contrary to the UN resolutions.  Russian State Duma member Valery Rashkin said that US attempt to damage the 61st edition of Damascus International Fair is an irresponsible conduct aiming at obstructing the victories which are being achieved by the Syrian Arab Army over Washington’s terrorist tools. He clarified that the US and its tools in the region are working to hinder military and economic victories in Syria and terminate what has been achieved over the past period in the country.

Holding this fair is proof of the return of security and stability to our country due to the victories made by the Syrian Arab Army and the resilience of the Syrian economic figures despite all that they have been exposed to due to the terrorist war. The holding of the fair reflects the determination of industrialists who headed to their factories and workshops to rehabilitate and rerun them.

The event indicates the ability of the Syrian people to overcome the past stage and move to the stage of reconstruction. The remarkable success of the Fair with this high local and international turnout is very symbolic and sends a message that the war in Syria is going to an end and that takfiri terrorism will be totally uprooted.  Launching the Fair with the attendance of official delegations and the participation of scores of Arab and foreign businessmen and a large number of local economic figures from the public and private sectors relays a message that Syria is recovering rapidly and its factories and plants have returned to work effectively. It also declares the failure of the war which targets the Syrian people’s determination and steadfastness.  This great event sends a message to the entire world that the Syrian people’s will of life is stronger than terrorism.

Damascus International Fair deals a strong blow to terrorism. The wide Arab and international participation in the Fair will contribute to broadening the prospects of economic and trade cooperation between Syria and the participating states so as to reach the hoped-for economic integration and cooperation
