Green beans are popular in Syria and all over the Middle East. The dish can be a healthy, fast, easy vegetarian/vegan perfect side dish for lunch or dinner that goes with almost any meal.
There are two ways to cook green beans either as a dish eaten with meat and rice or its vegetarian version where the beans are cooked in oil
INGREDIENTS
1 kg green beans
4 Tbsp tomato paste
½ tsp Seven Spice
1 Tbsp pepper
4 cloves garlic, chopped
4 Tbsp olive oil
Salt to taste
1 Tbsp. lemon juice
1 cup parsley
Preparation
1-chop green beans into 2-inch sections
2 -Sauté olive oil and tomato paste in a pot over low heat, and stirring constantly.
3 -Once the oil is red, cook green beans with cup water, add spices and garlic. Stir well and simmer for 5 minutes.
4- Add salt, lemon juice, garnish with remaining parsley (optional).
