Cabinet Discusses Final Preparations for Holding 61st Damascus International Fair

DAMASCUS, (ST)- The Cabinet on Sunday reviewed the final preparations and arrangements for holding the 61st Damascus International Fair between August 28th  and September 6th, 2019.

In its weekly session, chaired by Prime Minister Imad Khamis, the cabinet also discussed efforts exerted by the concerned ministries and parties to make the coming fair a success in terms of organization, local and foreign participation as well as the cultural and artistic activities to be held on the sideline of the fair.

 Minister of Economy and Foreign Trade Mohammad Samer al-Khalil said that preparations were completed and basic works necessary for launching the new edition of Damascus International Fair were accomplished.

The minister made it clear that the area reserved for holding the fair has reached 100.000 square meters for the first time since the re-launching of the fair in 2017 after years of hiatus. He pointed out that 1500, local, Arab and foreign companies are to exhibit their industries within this area.

The cabinet’s session also focused on mechanisms of implementing an all-out development plan in Daraa and Quneitra provinces.
