Rouhani: Iran favors talks but US must lift sanctions

On August 6, Iran’s President Hassan Rouhani reiterated that there are no talks with the United States of America before it lifts sanctions imposed on Iran.

During a speech in Tehran, Rouhani said: “The Islamic Republic of Iran favors negotiations and, if the United States of America wants to talk, before anything else it should lift all sanctions.”

Rouhani said that the US sanctions imposed on Iran’s Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif proves that the US statements on negotiations and talks are illusions.

Rouhani said that the US isolates itself by withdrawing from international agreements and accords. The US withdrawal from the 2015 nuclear deal, known formally as the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA), is a strategic mistake and it became lone in this world.

Rouhani added that the Iranian people proven throughout years prove their capability in facing all pressures and will win by the end against all foes and enemies.
