Homs, (ST)- Head of the Federation of the Syrian Chambers of Tourism, head of Tourism Chamber in the central region, Mr. Mohamed Khaddour stressed that tourism chambers, in cooperation with all the concerned parties, are working every year to create new and innovative ideas for the development of Al-Qal’a and Al-Wadi Festival, “the Citadel and Valley Festival”, which will kick off on the 1st of August, so the festival will appear more colourful than the previous years.
He added: “We are working this year to enhance the uniqueness that characterizes each village in the valley by creating an atmosphere of competitiveness and hosting sport events as well as productive or technical competitions between the villages of the valley, especially that Wadi Al-Nadarah area is distinct in terms of its beautiful climate, charming nature and the kindness of the people who represent the heritage and civilization of the Syrian people.
Khaddour stressed that the festival is a clear message to expatriates that life in this region has returned as it was in the past, even able to attract tourism investments. He pointed out that the owners of the establishments would like the festival to be held this year at the height of the tourist season”, calling on all media to cover this festival because of its importance in the promotion and marketing of tourism. He said that last year the festival witnessed excellent media coverage with 53 cameras working round the clock.
