WHO, Health Ministry Cooperate on Aids Delivery to Provinces

Homs (ST) _World Health Organization WHO representative in Syria Elizabeth Hoff said that the organization will  spare no efforts to deliver pharmaceutical needs to all areas and increase the volume of aid to Syrians in need.

During  a tour on Wednesday  on some hospitals in Homs after discussing with its  governor humanitarian, relief and health  situation in the Hoff noted  “the existing cooperation with the Ministry of Health in sending and distributing aids to the provinces,” pointing out that the organization is also cooperating with the Ministry of Higher Education to meet hospitals needs.

 She explained that a new  shipment of drugs arrived in the  warehouses of the Syrian  Red Crescent for distribution on  hospitals and health centers including  drugs for  trauma, accidents , diarrhea and infectious diseases as well as Band-Aid  medications. 

For his part, Governor of Homs Ahmad Munir Muhammad said  that  cooperation with world  programs  in  humanitarian  and relief areas should be increased to save Syrians  affected by the crimes of the armed terrorist groups. 

He indicated that ” vaccines were sent to  the besieged children of the old city in Homs ,despite terrorist attacks to the transporting convoy,” stressing continued  efforts to deliver all the medicines and humanitarian needs and the role of WHO in supporting preventive measures against infectious diseases.

The governor also discussed with Awatif Shoura  program director  of ” my project” initiative   accompanying WHO ‘s  delegation , objectives of the project, which is a non-profit fund aims to insure microfinance for the poorest, through encouraging   agricultural industrial and vocational borrower projects .
