Competent authorities in Homs seize artifacts gathered by terrorists for smuggling

HOMS ,(ST)_The competent authorities in Homs seized on Tuesday a set of artifacts prepared by terrorists before their defeat to smuggle them abroad, according to SANA correspondent in the province.

The correspondent made it clear that the artifacts were discovered inside a home in al-Rastan city, located in the northern countryside of the province, when the competent authorities were conducting a combing operation in the said area.

The artifacts will be delivered to the Homs Antiquities Directorate.

Over the past years, terrorist organizations have smuggled thousands of artifacts into the international markets. Hundreds of them have been discovered in the markets of neighboring countries, particularly Turkey and Jordan, while the competent authorities have foiled dozens of attempts to smuggle many artifacts in various areas.
