Flagrant Foreign Interference, Illegal Presence of Foreign Troops in Syria Prolong Crisis in the Country: Sousan
DAMASCUS, (ST)- Assistant Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Ayman Sousan has stressed that the US administration’s arrogant policies of creating political, economic and military conflicts and of aggravating tension in the world pose serious threat to international peace and security.
Sousan, who was speaking during a meeting with member of the General Secretariat of the Central Committee of the Cuban Communist Party Jorge Cuevas Ramos and the accompanying delegation, reviewed developments in Syria, pointed out that flagrant foreign interference in the country and the illegitimate presence of foreign troops in Syria are the main cause for prolonging the crisis in the country.
He said that Syria is dealing with the crisis through two parallel tracks: fighting terrorism plus ending the illegal foreign presence of foreign forces, in addition to the political process based on respecting Syria’s sovereignty, unity and independent decision.
He pointed out that deciding Syria’s future is an exclusive right of the Syrians as no one has the right to interfere in it.
He highly appreciated Cuba’s support for Syria, reiterating Syria’s rejection of the unjust US siege being imposed on Cuba.
On his part, Ramos and the accompanying delegation expressed pride in the achievements of the Syrian Arab Army in the fight against terrorism, hailing the Syrian people’s steadfastness in the face of the conspiracy hatched against their country. He also affirmed Cuba’s willingness to enhance bilateral relations between the two countries in all domains.
He reiterated Cuba’s support for Syria, noting the importance of the unity of all freedom-loving forces in the world against the American arrogance.
Grand Mufti Hails Cuba’s Support for Syria
Syria’s Grand Mufti Ahmad Badreddin Hassoun also held a meeting with the Cuban guest delegation during which he highly appreciated Cuba’s support for Syria and for just Arab causes.
“Syria is the cradle of civilization and the place from where the message of peace and amity was launched to prevail in the entire world, Hassoun said, pointing out that the terrorist war targeting Syria aims at forcing the country to change its principled stances in defense of its dignity and unity and in confrontation of hegemonic designs.
