Syria Wins Three Silver, Two Bronze Medals in Asian Pacific Mathematics Olympiad

DAMASCUS, (ST)- Syria has won three silver and two bronze medals in addition to four certificates of appreciation in the Asian Pacific Mathematics Olympiad (APMO) competitions organized online by Mexico on April 27th with the participation of 43 countries.

The Distinction and Creativity Agency said in a statement of which SANA got a copy, that the silver medals went to students Elie Ishou’, Ahmad Khamis and Abdul Karim al-Sayyed Ramadan, while the bronze went to Mohammad al-Hafi and Anas al-Qudsi.

Four other students got certificates of appreciation, added the agency.

 According to the agency, the results are the best in the history of the Syrian participation in the contests of the Asian Pacific Mathematics Olympiad.

Competitions were held simultaneously in the participating countries over four hours. They contained highly difficult questions.  

The International Mathematical Olympiad is to be held next July in Britain.
