Massive Rally in Damascus to Commemorate al-Quds Day

DAMASCUS-Under the title “No to the Deal of the Century”, a massive rally was held Friday in Damascus to mark the International al-Quds Day.

The rally set off from the entrance of al-Hamidiyeh ancient market towards the Umayyad Mosque.

According to SANA, the participants stressed that al-Quds is the eternal and historical capital of Palestine and that the Israeli occupation is to be eliminated no matter how long it lasts.

They condemned the US President Donald Trump’s declarations on al-Quds  and the occupied Syrian Golan.

The participants stressed that these declarations will not change the historical and geographical facts that the occupied Syrian Golan is an integral part of the Syrian territories and that al-Quds is an Arab city that was and will ever remain the capital of Palestine despite all attempts by the Israeli occupation entity and its supporters.

They condemned the criminal practices of the Israeli occupation forces and the systematic Judaization operations carried out by the occupation authorities in the occupied Palestinian territories, especially in the occupied city of al-Quds, highly appreciating the stances of the Syrian leadership and people in support of the Palestinian cause alongside the Islamic Republic of Iran and the axis of resistance.

Iranian Embassy in Damascus holds celebration on International al-Quds Day

Meantime, the Iranian embassy in Damascus held a celebration on Thursday in commemoration of the World Quds Day at Dama Rose Hotel in Damascus.

Iranian Ambassador in Damascus Javad Turk-Abadi affirmed that Syria’s struggle against the conspiracy and its victory is a victory for Palestine and Iran against powers of hegemony and colonialism, hailing Syria’s role in supporting the Palestinian cause, SANA said.

Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatiates, Faysal Mikdad said that commemorating the world Quds Day is an assertion on the determination and faith to restore the Arab usurped rights and an expression of the Arab will to continue fight in order to liberate al-Quds.

He added that Syria is achieving victories against terrorism, affirming confidence that the axis of resistance will defeat all the conspiracies.

Iranians Rally on Quds Day as US ‘deal of century’ looms

Millions of people in Iran and elsewhere are marking the International Quds Day to condemn a Middle East plan touted by US President Donald Trump as the “deal of the century”.

Iranians took to the streets in massive numbers on Friday after Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei called this year’s rallies more important than ever.

People in Tehran and other cities flocked to main streets to support Palestinians who are facing the dangerous prospect of a sellout of their rights through the US plan, according to Press TV.

Demonstrators carried banners with slogans such as “Al-Quds is the eternal capital of Palestine” as well as “No to the deal of the century”.

President Hassan Rouhani, who attended the rallies in Tehran, said the “deal of the century” would be the “bankruptcy of the century” for its sponsors and “definitely will not come to a fruition”.

He said Quds Day is “the day the confrontation of all Muslims with the world’s aggressors and the event’s message is that Palestine will be alive forever and al-Quds will remain for Muslims”.

“We have no doubt that the ultimate victory will be for the righteous and Palestine and Palestine, and that the land of Palestine will be a safe place for Muslims, Christians and Jews,” Rouhani added.
