Syrian-Iranian Cooperation to Establish Development Projects

DAMASCUS – Minister of Internal Trade and Consumer Protection Dr. Atef Al -Naddaf met here with the Advisor to the First Vice-President of the Islamic Republic of Iran and the Chairman of the Committee for the Development of Iranian Economic Relations with Syria and Iraq, Hassan Danyi. The two sides discussed means of enhancing relations of economic cooperation, trade exchange and opening new horizons for these relations.

The meeting, which was held on Wednesday at the Ministry of Interior Trade and Consumer Protection, discussed aspects of cooperation in the fields of the ministry’s work, development projects and ways to meet the needs of both countries’ markets for various commodities, foodstuffs and others.

Dr. Al -Naddaf confirmed the importance of the existing work between the two sides in the field of building, repairing and maintaining the mills and silos, pointing out that Um Al Zaytoun mill in Sweida, which was built in cooperation with the Iranian side, is an advanced step in this context.

For his part, the Iranian official appreciated to the sacrifices and heroism of the Syrian people and its steadfastness in the face of the unjust war against Syria, stressing his country’s readiness to cooperate in the fields of building mills and restoring and maintaining silos.
