Syria, China Discuss Cooperation to Rehabilitate Schools Damaged because of Terrorism in Syria

BEIJING, (ST)- Syria’s Minister of Education Emad Al-Azab and his Chinese counterpart Chen Baosheng held talks in Beijing on cooperation between Syria and China in rehabilitating schools damaged because of terrorism in Syria.

The meeting was held on the sidelines of the International Conference on Artificial Intelligence which concludes its activities today in Beijing.

Al-Azab said that efforts are underway to establish a national center on Artificial Intelligence (AI) in Syria, SANA reoported.

On his part, the Chinese minister expressed his county’s readiness to provide assistance in the artificial intelligence domain and in rehabilitating Syrian schools in accordance to a plane to be agreed on by the two sides.

 The meeting was attended by Syria’s Ambassador to China Emad Mustafa and concerned members of the staff of the Chinese Education Ministry.

The international conference on Artificial Intelligence and Education, organized by China in cooperation with UNESCO, was opened in Beijing last Thursday with Syria’s participation.

Participants discussed issues relating to exchanging ideas on most developments in artificial intelligence and the role of AI in enhancing education process.
